My apologize to the mods on this. Feel free to move it if need be, but I always feel I get more honest answers here in the ESEE forum.

At any rate, looking at both Wetterlings and Gransfors Bruks in terms of an axe. Haven't made up my mind either way in terms of brand, looking at several models as well.

Just really looking for the best place to purchase either brand. I've found a few sites, but I'm just not sure of their rep. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

My wife ordered me a GB for Christmas from somewhere, I'll try to find out which place it was. It came fast and a fair price.

BTW--I LOVE that thing. I'm convinced my set-up from now on will be a small 3 or 4 inch blade and a machete or the GB for the heavy stuff.

I got my Wetterlings from Rob at The Canteen Shop dot com.

Best price I've found and shipped super fast.

Plus, Rob is a peach of a man.

You might want to add Husqvarna to the mix. Their new axes seem to be made by the same holding company that owns both Wetterlings and Gransfors Bruks. I recently picked up their 14" hatchet and 26" all-around axe and I am really impressed.

I actually prefer them to any Wetterlings or Gransfors Bruks that I have owned. They are a bit thicker behind the cutting edge than GB axes but the edge is still very thin compared to most. The handles have great grain orientation and the sheaths are surprisingly nice.

The best part is the price. They cost a bit less than Wetterlings. I think the lower prices may have something to do with the improved distribution channels that Husqvarna brings to the table.

I like mine enough that I have now sold off or traded all my Wetterlings and GB axes. I have purchased mine from an arborist supply site called treestuff.com.

Now I just need them to come out with a full size felling axe.

When I got my wetterlings 10" the best deal I could find was Smokey Mountain Knife Works. Also, if you can ever go there its a cool (potentially expensive visit) but don't expect much in the lines of Benchmade.

God bless,
Adam
