Got it about a week ago. When I opened the package I was severely disappointed. The axe head had a chip on the lower edge of the blade. The head it self was off center an eight of an inch. To top all of that when I was testing it out for the second time I found that the head was beginning to wobble and break free. This really pissed me off. Hopefully the replacement will be a better product. Wetterling prides itself on their hand made craftsmentship and how it will last for many years. My axe only made it a week.

I posted this in the axe forum also.

I have to say mine was much more above the quailty of that one. Though the head wasn't off at all, it was a little dull, but was not chipped or anything else. Chances are you got a bad on out of the bunch, though its bad to hear their letting ones like that out

I have one Wetterlings, and have owned two others. All mine were in much better shape than what you describe. Not to worry, they do stand behind their product.
