I just came across this on youtube. They actually work. The craftsmanship must be remarkable.

Double action revolver in this vid.

He seemed to be aiming all over the place. Even at his own head. He doesn't seem to know a whole lot about gun safety.

Not blanks as far as I know, but I guess they're relatively harmless for him to be so reckless/careless with it.

There are some really marvelous miniatures; years ago I saw a magazine layout on a "Greener" double-barrel shotgun. Fully functional as to loading , ejecting, takedown..Tiny little "shells", all the accessories including a padded case.
Amazing work.

I'm guessing by his poor gun safety, the poor MF'er prolly held his hand in front of it for the first shot.

How 'bout miniature tents...

Years ago, apprentices in gun factories were required to turn out scaled down and functional one-time models and/or copies of existing guns as part of their final tests. I had a Mexican national come into my shop a few years back with such a model, this one made by someone in the Astra factory in Spain. This gun was a 1/4 scale model of a Colt 1911 and shot 22 shorts. I mean this little firearm was perfect in every way, right down to the magazine, slide release, grip safety, everything! I started at $500 and went up to a grand but the guy knew what he had and wouldn't sell. I still think about that little 1911 ever so often, like tonight, and wish I had it. It was a gem.

Nice bit of history. Thanks for that bit of trivia.

Whenever I go into shops which have those little display tents (North Face in Covent Garden is my favorite) I always pretend to the staff that I genuinely believe that these are full size tents.

It can be really difficult keeping a straight face, but its funny to see how long the gag can run!
