On December 01, 2016 we had a new member join our little corner of the internet an early Christmas present to the Porch if you would. He goes by the name (handle) Pàdruig and he has posted 146 times in his first two months of which 81 of those times were here on the Porch. On the 21st of December he caught the Traditional Generosity Bug and hosted a GAW you can find it here http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...-s-Giveaway-***WINNER-ANNOUNCED-on-Post-42*** and yes I won it. :D
In this GAW he offered up a Opinel #8 and a custom leather sheath made by his own hands. Now some time had passed and I must admit I was beginning to have some doubts but we talked by PM a couple of times and lo and behold a mysterious little package appeared in my mailbox today. It contained an Opinel #8, a beautiful handmade sheath with my last name etched in it and a great little keychain flashlight. Now I posted in the lounge what were some good small flashlights and he must have saw that and included it in the bundle.

So here's to you Pàdruig thank you for your generosity and welcome. You my friend no doubt are going to fit right in and I would ask the rest of our fine members to join me in welcoming our new addition.

Randy, that is awesome! Congrats on that excellent set up. Let us know what you think of the Streamlight (in the Lounge, of course). Can't beat an Opinel #8, especially when it's got a sweet personalized sheath!

Thanks so much for the kind words guys, the Porch here really has become my favorite place to hang out in. There is an atmosphere here that really cannot be replicated anywhere else in BladeForums, thank you for having me, it continues to be a pleasure.

Randy, I am delighted that you are happy with the package as a whole. I know the wait was longer than I had hoped and for that I truly do apologize. I think in the future, I will be sure to have the leather item crafted, or at least partially so before issuing a giveaway. The flashlight brand is one that I have carried for years and have always experienced it to be one of the best values out there, I am eager to know your thoughts on it once you've played with it a bit.

Again, if there is any issue with the pouch, it has a lifetime, no questions asked, warranty. Just let me know and I'll either repair it or send you a new one.

That is a great job on that sheath Pàdruig. I thought it would be nice based on the picture of your other one, and then the pictures of your wineskins convinced me you knew what you were doing, but that really is good looking.

Ive loved this forum for some time now but never really ventured into the Traditional section. The big has bitten and after seeing the generosity found throughout, its quickly become my favorite place to lurk and drool. Good good folks round these parts!!!
