WH Legacy Series?

Does anyone have some experience with the Legacy series from WH? Or has anyone handle them? I don't really understand how that "locking" mechanism is supposed to work. Is this really almost like a straight razor? Can someone help me with this?

I thought they where friction folders, ie, no locking mechanism.

Yes, but what do they mean by the detent mechanism that holds it open and closed? Is there a spring at all in this folder? And how well does that bar that you are supposed to put your thumb on actually work? And how smooth is the opening .

Friction folders traditionally have no lock, like some of the old, lockless opinels. they can flop around, and will not stay open or closed. The WH uses a detent (like what is on your liner lock) to keep the blade closed (as well as that'll work) and doesn't keep it "open", but keeps it from flopping closed due to gravity.
