What do you do with your traditional knives... I mean besides gut buffalo and pick cactus out of your knees...?

Let's see..this past week I have used my traditional knives to...cut zip ties, slice up various fruit, check the done-ness of a steak, pick a splinter out of my finger, open various plastic packages, open mail, and clean my fingernails.

Used mine to;cut some fresh vegetables off the vine in my garden, cut some paracord for EDC necklaces I'm making, food prep, and opening mail.

i used my congress to prune a rose bush. i took the shavings and made some toothpicks.
i killed a bear with my pen knife and ate his liver with farther beans. the beans were kinda chewy but after a while you get use to it and swallow hard.
all that by 7 am. so i had time to rest.
all in all just an average day.

A couple of guys wearing Stormy Kromer caps I see. Made in the good old USA:thumbup:I have one of those. Very warm.

Well, I haven't skinned any buff's or griz this week.

But I have broke down some carboard boxes for the recycle, opened my mail, cut open the top seal of a bath tub culk tube, Cut a piece of jute twine to tie up some newspaper for recycle, sliced some chedder cheese for a grilled cheese sandwich, opened a 20 pound plastic bag of bird seed for the feeder out on the back deck, dug some mud out of the tread on the bottoms of my Keen sandels, and few other little jobs.

Maybe I'' get around to that griz next week.:D

Carl.

tongueriver no doubt that project will test the mettle of several blades. really would be tough w/o 3 guys. i would say that straight knives rule here. 5 & 6 in. blades & lots of effort.thanks for reminding members what a knife is really for.

My penknife I carried this week opened several boxes, letters and helped me remove more than few stickers. Opinel #8 helped making Apple pie

I whittled a full scale replica of the Trojan horse with my peanut:D seriously; mostly fruit slicing, letter opening, the occasional cigar tip cutting and any odd and end excuse to whip that slippie out!

i'm moving house, the yella trapper is cutting paper, tape, cardboard and all that stuff
for the rest it's edc cutting, little food with carbon blades

Michael Morris Friction Folder: Last week...opened 3 packages of hot dogs, opened every bottle of beer my family members drank

Yesterday...dug a splinter out of my wifes finger.

Today...it's in my pocket right now and I am thinking it's probably going to lift some caps today ;)

Just last night I was using a Case small stockman to sharpen pencils and cut off pieces of beef jerky. That after the usual day of opening mail and boxes and other random tasks.

Well, we had some zombified werewolf ninjas terrorizing my town a few nights ago, so I figured I'd take care of them. I went out to confront them, and ala Bruce Campbell, jumped on the roof of a car and brandished my Soddie Jr. They took one look at that CV steel, and quickly scurried back to wherever it is they came from. The town was safe, I was a hero, and we all lived happily ever after!!
I then came home and used my red Vic Cadet to open up some mail, break down two of my wife's Avon boxes, opened up a package of frozen chicken, and then used the small screwdriver head on the can opener to open the battery compartment on my daughter's toy.
All in a days work for a slippie!!

I used my Tidioute Scout Linerlock to trim a radiator hose to fit my neighbor's tractor, opened the clamshell package for the tractor's oil filter, and opened a box my new DMT Magna-Guide sharpener came in.
