I drew one of these up a while back but never got around to actually making it happen. Finally, this past weekend I took the plunge. Very happy with how it turned out. I am working on a sheath now.

Here are a couple shots as I took off steel. I like the way the 14 looked in these in between stages.

Damn fine work, and what a great idea.

That looks great! nicely done man. I really like some of the in-between shots as well when you're gradually takin off the steel.

Thank you for the kind words everybody! I had a good time working on it, and now I LOVE my bk14. There are already several others being planned

Haha yea. I almost made the title something like, "Wharning: BK14 Mod Inside" but didn't want the thread to turn into sheepsfoot vs wharncliffe, hah.

Well I couldn't leave enough alone, and decided to do a quick etch. It turned out ok. Not the exact look I was going for but I think I'll leave it. Other than a little more cleaning up. I also finished one of the three sheaths I'm doing.

Most likely, I'll make an individual sheath thread, as I want to show what a 1st timer could do with less than $10. The other 2, unfinished, sheaths however, do not fall under the <$10 concept.

Nice idea, I too may have to steal that, though I may stop at the last intermediate length, ,

Just saw this simple but amazing reshaping of your blade. The Warn/sheepsfoot looks fantastic and any updated pics are welcomed.

great job!

Haha wow two years later. I should post some updated pictures :)

Please do! This is a really cool mod.

What equipment did you end up using to grind it down? I'm curious because I have a KOWS but I know using that might be tedious if I were to attempt the same type of mod.

Inspiring!
