Wharncliff blades --- help me find some that I like.

Hello all,

Lately I'm finding myself to be very fond of wharncliff style blades. They're easy to sharpen with a straight edge. They tend to cut well, and I just dimply like the look of them.

So, can you give me some recommendations..........I'm preferably looking for customs or higher quality steel production models.........folders and fixed blades both.

Now, I know of ( and own ) many of the common ones, so no need to include stuff made by:

Kershaw ( Needs Work )
CRKT ( SPEW, Crawford Dragon, and others )
Benchmade ( Gravitator )
Spyderco ( Yojimbo and others )
Blackwater Be Wharned

I've even seen an XM-24 wharncliff and I think Kirby Lambert makes a wharncliff folder, too.

Just an example of the types of things I'm looking for are the Yuna Knives Zen and Zombie Slayer. One of those has been on my list for a while.

So, any suggestions you can give would be appreciated...............pics would be great, too!

Thanks!

W

Very nice and unique. I have the blue 4".

I'd second the Hogue EX-04 Modified Warncliff. Not a traditional Warncliff design but incorporates the best attributes and qualities of the Warncliff and add's and improves on it. Combined with the double grind, strengthened tip, double recurve and belly it offers exceptional slicing / stabbing performance not otherwise seen in other blade designs. A really amazing blade design that bring a lot of desired elements together.

A real performer and very much worth looking into.

+1 on the Case baby copperheads. Sweet little knives - and they've been made with dozens of different scale materials to boot...

Showing these off never gets old! I find them to be the best blade shape ever!

Chris Reeve Insingo, there are a whole slough of different flavors. This one is my personal favorite. I really need to get one of those Serge Dogtags! I wish he was still taking orders...:grumpy:
