Headed out to the gun show yesterday with a buddy who's new to town; we've known each other for several years, but now we work in the same building. It was fairly small, but busy, as they do seem to be. I didn't find anything I specifically went looking for (and if you have a couple mags for an H&K USPC .45 let me know), but did find a nice Case wharncliff jack sitting at a table. It was in a tin that was a little dirty and rusty, but the knife was as new, including the plastic gizmo to hold the blades open. I've been carrying one of the cv jacks with chestnut bone for several months and been happy with it, so I figured I'd see what I could do on this one. Talked around the fact that it was green (eh), and the case was kind of beat up, and ended up getting it. Since it was all I bought, with the show entrance fee I'm out $60, which is OK.
Later that evening it was time for the football/poker night with the guys, and I took the knife along for show and tell. As always the table was up and down, but at the end of the night my payoff was exactly $60. I don't know if it's the color or the fact it found a home but I'm going to have this little green jack in my pocket a few more Saturday evenings.
