300Bucks is a frickin' genius.

Buried in the 1st post of the thread of the thread, "First quick look at the 301 single blades" is one heck of a good idea.
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=770221

Now if they would make a two blade Jackknife shape with a warcliff or thin sheepsfoot blade on the same end as the clip I would be in hog heaven....
If Buck were to combine the existing Sheepsfoot and Clip blades from the 301, they would pretty much a Wharncliffe jackknife. This would be less expensive than coming up with an entirely new knife. My best guess is that the most expensive part of the tooling is the dies for fine blanking the blades. They would still have to come up with the jigs for building the thing and the build line, but the cost should be similar to that of the single blade they ginned up, because they are already making the blades.

I don't know about you fellas, but the sheepsfoot blade on my stockman is just about my most used blade. Great for cutting into packaging. It's got to the point where I have a hard time carrying a knife that doesn't have a Wharncliffe or sheepsfoot blade.

If they made this, I'd join 300.

Ain't no genius......just like pocket knives.

Would like to see a nice Buck slipjoint with either a Clip and Warcliff blade on same end or on opposites. I like the "looks" of same end blades best but the ability to open any/a blade upon extracting from pocket is the opposite enders argument. Mr. Hubbard, of Buck, replied in the aforementioned post after my post requesting such a knife, and I quote: "Don't worry Boys, we'll get your money next year on this one " .

Now I have quietly gone on my way without pressing him or others about this possibility. He may in fact have been speaking on just the introcuction of the 302 single blade. But I am hoping this means we may see a few new 300s in the next catalog.

I am sure planning and set-up for such a project would have to be already cast in stone, so not looking for any influence right this minute.

But I would be a vocal and strong supporter if a 301 or 303 sized Buck slipjoint appeared with a nice clip and matching in correct design size 'warcliff or thin sheepsfoot blade'. Give us a black or yellow scale to carry and a high quality fancy jigged bone scale as a 'special'. If that happened I would just about bust a gasket.......

Don't get excited it's only photo magic......

300Bucks,
I was assuming Jeff was talking about a Jackknife to when he made that comment, but looking back he may not of been talking about a two bladed jack. But like you I would be greatly appreciative if Buck would make a Jack on either 301 or 303 frame. I would think if they could knock a few dollars off the price of a 303 for a two bladed Jack that it would have alot of customer appeal especially to a "Big" box store.

Hmmm. 301s with ghost blades... ;)

Frankly, I like the design (A) Canoe Moose BUAG308S & (B) Canoe Moose BUAG308BP made for AG Russell Knives by Buck; or even my own build-out version, the 0308BO-B.

Each has a drop/spear-point blade of 154CM and a Wharncliffe blade of S30V, with slender size and light weight. The blades are slender too, but rigid & flat-ground. It's a beautiful design.

They have a 'beautiful' people price also.....I is ugly.....

Left them 'ghost' so that everyone could see they were faked and I would not be the cause of heart failure in the thinking they were available....

I have the build-out which is more reasonable. Not sure what you mean by "I is ugly..." but I think the knife is beautiful. The $355. and $395. price tags are too rich for me, however.

Good idea :D

It's a pipe dream but I'd like to see a congress in the 300 series having the standard blade configuration of a stockman with the addition of a wharnecliffe blade.

I never took a liking to them because I am not fond of the canoe handle shape. I like the 303 handle better, it is more neutral.
