I'm looking for suggestions for jack style knives with a wharncliffe main blade and a pen secondary in the 3 inches plus or minus a bit size, besides the Swayback Jack. I know GEC has made some, but what other production knives are out there that fit this description?

Queen #46 half-whittler. 3 1/8" closed.

Sorry about that. I just re-read your post and noticed you wanted a jackknife. I have no idea what fits your criteria other than the Case Swayback Jack.

The mini copperhead is appropriate for consideration although it is a pen configuration rather than the standard jack configuration.

I believe Fight'n Rooster brand had a wharncliffe and pen in a jack configuration and perhaps there was a Schatt and Morgan knife that fit that description. There are not many out there with that specific configuration though.

Case did make a standard size copperhead with a wharncliffe main and a pen secondary, but it is about 3-3/4" closed.

It looks like this:

Case has mini (3.5" closed) wharncliffe trapper, with equal length wharncliffe and clip blades. The handle colors are rather...bright, though. There's also the copperhead that I just spent 5 minutes looking for but TLARbb beat me to.

As TLARbb mentioned Fight'n Rooster made a jack (they call it a sway back, but it's more of a congress jack) with a wharncliffe master and secondary pen, but all that I've seen have MOP handles (sexy, but not durable).

If you can suffer a pen blade configuration, there's many, many more choices that are available to you. Case mini wharncliffe copperlock, plus any number of half congresses, half whittlers, pen knives, hawbaker muskrats, etc from many, many brands.

And of course there was the 2009 BFC knife, a barlow with equal length clip and wharncliffe blades in D2, with stag handles made by S&M/Queen. If you can find a forumite that will sell you one...

perhaps there was a Schatt and Morgan knife that fit that description.

They made one called an open ended English Jack, with a wharncliffe master and pen secondary, but it's 4 1/4" closed.

I have one of the Case mini copperheads, and that Queen/Burke is gorgeous to look at. I just prefer the blades to open at the same end. A lot of it it is having a consistent handle shape and feel (So symmetrical pen configurations would be good too). On the mini copper head, for example, I love how the knife fits my hand when using the pen blade. The wharnie side just doesn't feel quite right.

Good set of suggestions

I know you know about GEC
I really like the GEC #25 Jack as it is a solid knife for the size
I have one with a sheepsfoot and pen, but you can get with a Wharnie main and a small clip
GEC also have a #26 Sleeveboard, with a larger Wharnie main and small coping, which looks great
