Howdy everyone. I am looking for a good EDC Wharncliffe with only one blade. A two to three inch blade will do. Suggestions?

I think Case makes a mini copperhead,or copperlock w/one warny
Someone will chime in & know better...

You might want to check out Case's sway back jacks. I believe there are two with the single wharncliffe blade. One in navy blue jigged bone and one in MOP.

CASE used to do a Copperlock in yellow handle with cv blade but they are mighty difficult to find these days.Been looking for one myself.

Here is what the Case Copperlock looks like.

the one on the bottom.

I've been looking for another one and as previously stated, they are hard to find right now. The Case sway back pattern might be the best choice right now.

I too have wanted a wharncliff for some time and have not had success.

The copperlocks are tough to find. I've tried to buy them at auction time after time only to be out bid. I love the yellow handled one above. I hate the zebra patterns... that are more easy to fine. Case and I don't hink along the same lines. The steels, patterns and handle materials on the knives I like from them are few and far between. When I do find one I like is usually isn't in production...

Morrowj - When did Case make that pattern/blade combination? I've got to find me one of those...

thx - cpr

They just stopped making them this year or last.

I think you're right...and I don't think they made an awful lot of them. if i remember correctly, they were not that common even when they were in production.

The Case knives are always a good bet.

Something different that I have and really like, but is getting a bit more difficult to find, is the Lone Wolf Loveless City Knife. It has what they call a modified wharncliffe blade, which isn't straight all the way to the end, and I've only seen it with the fancier handles lately.

If you are looking for inexpensive and a bit more colorful, Stanley is now offering some folding knives, one of which is a single blade wharncliffe.

Victorinox/Swiss Army has one in the size you are looking at that is also pretty inexpensive - under $20 IIRC.

And a few more:
- GP Knives has a couple of wharncliffe single blades in their custom knives section.
-A.T. Barr has some on his customknives.com website
-True North Knives sells the Nemesis Imp. Very nice small knife, but whether you would be interested or not would depend on whether you are looking for a gentleman's knife or something a bit more rugged.

I just got mine last year ('07, maybe '06) and it was current production then.

Eddie White makes a nice fixed blade Wharncliffe; I know, he designed it for me... #011 on shadowknives.com:

Or do what I did and get the Case Copperhead w/Wharncliffe, and have the clip blade removed:
