pretty cool

Looks like a non-stainless 1255 (not the latest use of the model number, which is an all black tanto shortie ) but the knife from the rigger's set, which came with a marlin spike. There was a 1375 SS as well. I have more info stored somewhere. The non-stainless versions are "very old" like 1930s vintage. Still looking for my archive info.

ETA:
Here's the ??1960-70s?? version w/ sheath and spike. In stainless.

And here is the 1950s?? version in high carbon

I have question marks w/ the dates because my dating info in ambiguous and contradictory.

Still digging for my info about the earliest versions.

Well, after BF was down for 1.5 hours, I figured I better add this with a new post...

The group was called the "MarineMate" and came in at least 3 flavors. In addition to the knife and spike above, there was a folding version and a "3 piece" 1255 version.

The 2 piece folding version

The biggest issue with this version was that the knife did not have a lanyard hole, a big negative for a knife on the water.

The 3 piece version

Still looking for my info about the 1930s version that I vaguely remember reading about somewhere on the internet. :(
