What’s your perfectly executed knife?

Being an OCD type, I’ve received a number of knives where I was disappointed. Not in the design necessarily but in the execution. Its usually been something minor. A blemish, uneven grinds, blade is not centered, action is rough, there is blade play, on and on it goes. Fixed blades are usually better but they are not immune. However, once in a while, I’ve received a perfect specimen. Everything is absolutely perfect and I can’t find a single thing wrong with it. So, show us your perfect knife. Doesn’t have to be expensive or exotic. It can even be a very cheap knife but where the build quality and execution was perfect. I’ll start with this Spyderco Kapara. There is literally not an imperfection to be found and for a production knife, I’ve been very impressed. Let’s see yours

all of these with the exception of the mini kukri at the 1oclock position.. reason they are perfect is that I collaborated with the bladesmith and tweaked them to my specifications

The Swiss Army Knife. Refined over the 120 years, iconic design that is known throughout the world for its quality, functionality and ingenuity. There is a lot of thought packed into a tidy package. You can pick up any model and know it will live up to your expectations. They even go into space with our astronauts.

It is funny you bring up SAK. I can’t remember ever not having them around because they work so well. I have the classic stashed all around the house and one at the cabin (the tweezers are awesome for splinters and suture removal), one in a go-bag. I have a Swiss Champ over 30 yrs old that has seen many miles. Just got a Trekker One German military knife that fit/finish is excellent. Looking forward to putting it to use.

As far as fit/finish/ergonomics/sheath, and overall impression of several recently acquired fixed blades seem flawless: Kornalsky edc in M2, CPE tanto in magnacut, CPK SDFK and Kephart in D3V, David Mary edc in AEB-L. Really pleased with these

Side by side with a LT Bushcrafter - basically the same knives.. one convex , one Scandi. I’m the opposite of an expert, but, I think the next Gen is a 3 inch blade ?

Thanks for the pic, Brother.

Yeah, I think that's the same size as the LT "Next Gen". I think the NG is a 3" blade with the full-sized handle of the "Genenis".

I ain't much for scandies, but think I could fall in love with the full flat-'vex of that BHK. ❤️

Well I am thinking about doing a custom handle on a cold steel so we will see if it's a perfectly executed knife. The blade is for sure one of the best for the money and the handles are among the worst.
I keep seeing nice re handled CS so it can't be that hard can it?

Which Cold Steel model? I have a number of them and they are almost uniformly excellent. I’ve always been curious about rehandling some of the fixed blades

Too many to count, but maybe I have low standards ? And I'm OCD as well, but maybe less than others :)

For instance, every single one of these came perfect for my standards, including (and very importantly) the sheaths.

Come to think of it, I did change the belt loops on their sheaths, and changed a couple of scales. Cann't leave good enough alone, I guess .... does perfect after a small DIY mod count ?

My William Henry's, Chris Reeve and others of that price range have been. A few spydercos have. I carry a Boker made SAK style knife that is about perfect. It even has a pocket clip. I LOVE this knife and it kicked out all but one SAK from my pocket.

Other mentions are many of my slipjoints and Case/Tony Bose are all completely crisp lined and perfectly ground with multiple blades. All nice and they get carried because of it.
