there was a poll about wich 3/8th" thick models people would like to see if they could, and it was interesting to see what people chose (skeleton key  ). lots of choppers and prybars present  :D

and i figured it was appropriate to post a poll on what models people would like to see made into slicers. some of them i excluded because they seem like they would make very odd slicers, such as the public defender, but you never know. to each his own, knives are a constant learning process. any opinions/replies are welcome and appriciated :D

dang... i put active duty twice.... oh well... (only vote for the top one :D )

for actual use, id say iether combat 4, or caretaker, but out of shear wishful thinking, a modified american kensei would be awesome... possible with a handle similar to the skunk sword (swamp rat style) with a basic handle on it. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM INFI machete....

Had to go with the AD.

Good size, and that thickness would make a great lil blade.

Believe it or not I wouldn't mind seeing a MOAB in .09 thickness....talk about a contrast to the 3/8" version, lol

Have you strayed from the dark side young sith?

Who knows. I've been back in D.C. for the last three weeks....you can never tell what that city will do to you.

I'd like to see the Swamp Rar Howling Rat in this thickness and in INFI. The Badgers are my favorite Busse, but with the bigger belly and shape, the Howler is my favorite design to come out of Wauseon.

I'd like to see a big slicer, an INFI machete. I voted MOAB because you left out the Battle Mistress :)

When it comes to the Mistress, thickness doesn't matter to me. I'll buy a Mistress at anything including .090". Some knives are beautiful no matter what....and the Mistress is certainly one of them.

Hasn't anyone ever USED a Howling Rat here? Like an improved BA design and a better skinner and kitchen knife. You INFI snobs you! LOL

i owned and used one for a short time, and would prefer the badger attack. for one reason - smaller choil. the howling rat is a really nice knife with a great belly for general cutting, but its got to short of a cutting surface to realy maximize it, not because of blade length, but because the cutting edge is taken down by the choil. a ba-e or 3rd gen sized choil would make it a lot higher on my favorites list.

i actually just made a basic 5 sized blade out of a NICK (using the satin jack blade as the profile marker (sj = same knife as b5, but with large ricasso/choil)) and i am completely impressed with it. i would rather have this (basic 5) then the howler because of the usable blade area.

and swamp rat has thin knives  - the entire hunter utility line are great slicers at great prices. sr101/d2/s30-infi crossovers deserves its own thead :D

*edit to add, i also like the basic handles better then the standard rat handles :D less blocky*

INFI Snob, lol :) .....Thats a new one for the books :D

Hee Hee! I gotta watch out, my INFI outnumbers my SR101 by about 6 to 1. One of them's going to get PO'ed and poke me. LOL

I totally agree about the choil on the HR. I DO EDC a SHBA, and the Badgers are my favorite. Now, if I could just get a BA with a bit deeper belly AND the small choil, I would be in Hog heaven. Just enough where the edge comes below the handle (and your knuckles) when you are chopping/slicing stuff on a cutting board. Both are so close to perfect. Take the best of both and you're there. A ,090 BA-E might do it.

I say Steel Heart, just think of the balance and feel of a Steel Heart Fusion Fighter in .090"!!!
