I'd was walking the pooches today and thought I'd take a pic of a local eagle on it's nest.
As I turned off the camera the other eagle came flying by in front of me with a rabbit hanging from it's talons !!!!!

Talk about bad timing eh, that would have made a crazy pic !!!!!

I missed Momma Fox and three baby foxes playing ring around the rosie in the foothills this morning, woke up, grabbed my cell phone wearing nothing but a pair of pants and went for a short walk to the foothills trailhead to check summit and trail conditions after last night's rain... there they were, right at the trailhead, rolling around in the grass. Yuppie John and Yuppie Jane were right behind me with a Jack Russel and a black lab so of course there was no way I would have been able to grab the camera and come back in time. My camera died 2 miles before the confluence of the Salmon and the Snake Rivers so I missed my shot of two 5,000 foot deep canyons convirging at one 5,000 foot knife edge point... some things you will have to keep tucked away in your soul to appreciate forever. 99% of the people on this planet are completely blind to its beauty anyway, sometimes words and pictures can never explain.

Indeed, would have been an awesome pic. Although it is usually the time you don't have a camera that all of the cool stuff happens. I know it is with me.

Cool pic of the eagle though

Never fails. Either I don't have a camera, or I'm not fast enough.
Seeing things like that are special gifts just for you Pit; it was something cool, not to be shared, just enjoyed for the few moments you witnessed it.
