Those are my 2 favorite ESEEs right there. Now, we need to get Jeff kicking on the 4-MIL. :D

I find 98.6 is a better book than the other & nice ESEE blades

Agreed, but being Very close to DC, the Urban centric focus really made me think about things in the event I can't get somewhere less populated quickly. Traffic where I am can go from good to crap in no time for no reason.

The 3MIL will see some time this weekend practicing fire skills with my daughter.

When I handle the AH-1's, I am reminded of the words a friend of mine says. "They'll Bite YOU!!" They are indeed sharp and pointy li'l buggers

I will remember that ;) I keep thinking they would be great to use as a Striker with a fire starter... What do you think? Are they to small to grip well?

i have both those books - very entertaining! i agree, i like the hell book better since it's more comprehensive. plus it covers everything 98.6 contains anyway.

I never really gave that much thought. It's a good idea and looks like you could hold it well enough in the wide part of the arrowhead, but would want to watch out for the pointy part waiting to remind us how important it is to focus on the task at hand.

I will give this a try and post comments.

good looking family. but they need a big brother - specifically a 5....... you won't regret it....

You indeed should be proud. Nice to see you are spending quality time with them in the early years.

Cody Lundin really has a unique approach to survival using his primitive living skills. It's interesting that, regardless of the cicumstances, he does'nt see the need for a monster knife.

I have a BK-2 in the ESEE-5 space that I use when I camp and that stays in my BoB. The ESEE's that I have get EDC time and are less intimidating in the parks we hike in. I would not rule a 5 out in the future however.

The one thing I can say is that the smaller blades like my 3MIL and 4 have so many everyday uses.

In full disclosure I do like both of these manufacturers and a lot of it has to do with the members in these forums, the fact that Ethan and Jeff are regulars to the forums and are USA made.
