You may remember this area from the thread with the hawk and the moon, well it looked much different the day before yesterday.

The day I took the hawk and moon shots…

A few shots from the ride up the mountain. Off to the right in these shots there is a creek I like to sit by.

These are some shots at that creek when I stopped for a “brew” the next day. Not really a brew as I prefer bullion to hot tea on a cool day most of the time, but it was nice none the less. I took the part of the gear pods set that has the cup and stove and carried it in my shoulder bag.

Some horse hoof fungus I am going to go back and harvest.

Getting the bullion on, and not a half bad view.

Great pics as usual Mist. Thanks for sharing 'em.

Another cool post Bro

Please keep em coming

Thanks Bill, glad you enjoy my random wanderings :)

Great post. How do you like the gear pods?

I like it pretty well actually. I also like that it is modular and I can pick and choose which parts I want to take, and that I can buy single tubes and make other mods to make it season specific.

How about a closer view of that knife?

Ok, no problem.

I was hoping/expecting to see a persimmon harvest. No heavy frosts there yet? Was 25 here last night. I need to go out scouting.

That's the best persimmon tree I've seen all year and most of it is out over the river!

You just need a picking basket on a pole. It has fingers to pull them and a small basket to catch them. It will even pick them up out of the water.

I made my own when I was a kid, but you can get one commercially for $10 or less.

I see a few in those pictures that look ripe. Coons and yotes will beat you to them if you procrastinate! I loves me a persimmon pie and persimmon bread. Persimmon preserves are good too. And wonderful to trick the kids with if not ripe!

Oh I love persimmons! I'll have to see if anyone here carries a version of that!!

Mmmmm, persimmons.I haven't had a persimmon since I went hunting with a friend at his families place in Kentucky back in 83.
Luckily it was November & they had their first frost.
Great pics Mist.

Cool pics of a pretty area. I bet Andy's chest swells just a bit every time he sees a post of someone using and enjoying his knives. I know mine would.

Thanks for the kind words guys
