Hello everyone,

I found this board while searching for a good survival knife, and I've really been impressed with the volume of information you guys have put together here at Blade Forums. Thanks for the help.

I bought a RAT-3 at Brigade Quartermasters last year and I really loved it, so when it came time to get a big brother for it, I started looking for another RAT style. I had no idea at the time about the split between Ontario and RAT Cutlery.

Since I've been looking and learning, I've settled on the RC-6. The Rat Cutlery Website is great! I ordered the RC-6 from Chestnut Ridge Knife Company right before the new year, but it's on back order for now. So, I've been hanging out here subjecting myself to pictures of it trying to take the edge off the wait.

Anyway, I can't wait until I can put it through the field trials. Thanks again for the forum and for the great knives.

Welcome to the forum! The RC-6 is a great knife, you're really going to enjoy it when it shows up. I'm guessing it won't be your last RAT knife either!

Welcome to the forums, and You will be very pleased with the RC6. My RC6 was my first RAT product and I now have two more of their knives on order. Great knives from a great company.

Thanks for the welcome everyone.

The RC-4 with the leather sheath and ferro rod are on my short list after the RC-6 comes in.

Welcome Johnspark!! You're gonna like it here., good group of people and a wealth of info if you've got the time to read it all!!

You're gonna love the RC6! I don't have one(yet) but I do have an Izula, RC3, and an RC4 and they're all fantastic blades. As far as Rat Cutlery as a company.., Mike and Jeff are great guys and the way the business is top notch! Wish more people treated their customers and stood behind their product the way they do!

Again, Welcome! and let us know how you like the RC6 when you get it! And don't let the addiction hit ya too hard! lol
