I have't had a birthday this good in years. I dunno if this is the right forum or whatnot, but here's what I got:

Plus I got a whole slew of cash from family and friends, which is now going towards one o' these puppies:

I'm one happy dude

You DID have a great day ! How about giving us a report on that Savage beast once you take her out. I have an ancient Savage .22/410 & it is the most accurate rifle I've ever fired. I cut the target wires at 50 yards & was asked NOT to come back by the younger ones that shot like they were spraying flowers .
The .17 should be extremely accurate. Smaller bullet, higher velocity---right ?
My Ruger ranch .223 is almost as accurate as my old Savage & I figure size X velocity is the reason.

Happy birthday again.

Safe shooting !

yup, great day indeed. I called turner's Outdoorsman today (about the only gun store in the area...stupid Kalifornia), and they said they only carry the model with a synthetic stock. So tomorrow we're gonna go down there and have them special order the GV model...can't wait :D the downside, though, is that once they get it, we still have a 10 day waiting period after signing the papers. :(

What a place to live.in Florida you can walk out with a long gun. Pistols require a 3 day wait [ cooling off & background check ] . At a flea market,it's cash & carry.

I could not be happy in such a closely regulated state. Guess I'm a spoiled country boy.Our state has loosened up on gun control . I'll bet car-jacking falls 75 percent this year. Street crimes should go way down if the mugger is thinking the mugee might be carrying.

yup, I'm only 17 though, so I can't really do anything about it at the moment. Plus, most all of my friends and family live in this crappy state, so I'm probably stuck here :(
