I received this fantastic Moose from Ken Erickson a couple of months ago, and have been carrying it as my edc since.
And today, a Ken Erickson droppoint hunter arrived.
And what a gorgeous couple they are...!!!
It's only a shame the droppoint is going to be given away (it's a birthday present), so I only get to fondle it for a very short time.
The droppoint has also made me realise that not only does Ken make great knives, but his leatherwork is fantastic too.

Some data for the curious:
Steel - ATS34 in both
Handle - Jigged bone in both
Moose liners, bolsters, pins - Stainless
Droppoint bolsters, pins - Nickelsilver
Moose size - 91mm (closed)
Droppoint size - 202mm total, 96mm blade.
Droppoint - 3.5mm thick blade, tapering off towards tip. Full tang, tapered towards the end of the handle.

Kens work is impeccable, and so is the man himself. A true gentleman.

Your moose was getting some compliments in the thread
"Question on jigged bone" in this sub-forum. I have to agree, the jigging really is appealling.

I'm thinking it's time to get a different birthday gift and keep that baby for myself... :D I really love those knives Karl

I have to admit the thought has crossed my mind...
Must... be... strong.....

Beautiful knives Karl. That would be a tempting solution Sunburst. I guess you'll have to ask Ken to make another for you.

Wow...

In the dictionary, next to "knife", they should use the your top picture.

No wasted movement on either of those. Sublime, I think would be the word.

Beautiful knives, Karl. Ken appears to do some great knives.

Very nice, Karl, very nice. I got my name on Ken's "do to" list for one of them there mooses. Very similar to yours. I requested a warncliff instead of the spey.
And now...I wait.:D

Thanks a lot guys!!

Yes, Ken does good work. Very good work indeed.
It's easy to see in the quality of his work that he enjoys what he's doing.
And he's a pleasure to deal with. A true gentleman in every sense.

They do make a nice couple. Since you've tagged the one to be a gift, order a new one and see just how close Ken can match it to the scales on your Moose. I think that jigging on your Moose would look serious on a drop point like that.
