What a surprise...

Few weeks ago I got a surprising PM from Duncan (AKA Campblleclanman) asking me to agree to accept a knife he can not bring himself to use, that he thinks suits my taste (the perfect gentleman ).
Well, to such a PM I could not refuse and few days ago I got a package from New Zealand with an excellent vintage Sheffield sheepfoot jack, manufactured by Wade and Butcher.
According to quick research I made, it is manufacturer brand of knife maker in Sheffield ca. 1890-1918. The knife has full blade that start getting some patina, great checkered handles, bone or stag hard to see, and perfect action, also all the fittings are steel and the bolsters have nice rat tail groove.
The amount of generosity of members on the forum always had amazed me, and this feeling just grew when I faced it personally.
Thank you Duncan you are a great friend :)

Congrats to you both. Very well done.

Great knife Mike! I really like the look of the bone :)

Duncan - that´s a nice gift to Mike. Highly appreciated! :)

That is just an awesome knife! I would expect no less from Duncan though. I've been trying to sit behind my laptop less and walk and stay active more, but I miss this group when I'm out walking. Duncan really is a heck of a guy too. A caring person for sure. Congrats.

A generous man who can give away such a knife.

It now enters a new era its long life, well done!

Hi Mike, Wahoo.... it arrived nice and safe!!...I am so Rapt that it has done so.
It was a pure pleasure to gift the knife to you, as I spied in a comment of yours that you prefer such the styling of the blade-as in Sheepsfoot, after being the recipient of fantastic generosity myself, it is a great pleasure to participate in our absolute wonderful Forums way.

That is an amazing knife, and even better the way you received it. I particularly like the rugged construction, the thickness of the blade spine and spring coupled with the sheepsfoot profile say it all. It also has an unusual kick, I haven't seen one like that before. Congrats!

Thanks Mike!
Bonky, Im pretty sure that if you look at a few of the older knives you will see that style of Kick

Thank you for filling me in about the kick, since it's the first stovepipe kick I've seen. That's one of the reasons I really like these forums, I learn something almost every time I visit :)
