Ground out two 10 inch bowies,1 is cable and the other random damascus. Did 3 hunters and instructed a newbie on grinding 4 blades. Went to HT all and did bowies last. Right in the middle of the random blade it looks like a perfect 1/4 inch blister. Will try and get pics posted. Hopefully it will grind out or I will have to redesign the blade. I hate it when this happens. But you can come up with some intresting changes to save that damascus. :grumpy:

Here I am getting all proud of my little one-offs and you're a veritable production machine. Not to mention all the other little projects like testing and writing about other's knives. Cripes man, where's your frail human side? :grumpy: I'm not usually one to take pleasure in another man's misfortune, but I have to say I was secretly gleeful to read about the little problem with your damascus blade. Karma! That's what you get for making regular lazy people look like such duds.

Dave, you're cracking me up! Kim is one hell of a guy and I can't wait to meet him at the Novi show in a couple weeks! He is a monster knifemaker, that's for sure. I was ecstatic to finish one knife over the weekend and to have a good start on a second, myself!
It is feast or famin. I'm going to goof off for a week or more before Novi show. all work and no play makes Kim a pi$$edoff guy. It equals out to the same production. Go like hell for a couple of days then a week in florida. Man being retired sucks. I use to make 1 in 60 days before. I just got a little better.an goof off more. But I still will help new makers anytime. Don't forget finishing my bachlors degree. It keeps me young and in shape.

Laugh now I know you guys have never been in the shop when Kim is on the grinder, all you here is little girl sounds when the steel gets a bit hot. I keep telling him that there is no big S on his chest. He just gives me the look and dips the steel in the water and goes back to grinding. The best ones used to be when he tried grinding with gloves on to beat the heat, then got the gloves wet and found the joys of steam burns.......
