So it has been a terrible week. Murphy's law has just been smacking me in the face on a daily basis. I will spare you all the details because honestly at this point I doubt anyone would even believe me if I told you. Yeah its been that bad.

Anyway, I have been trained to deal with things like this and plan to start drinking tomorrow night and end up somewhere in next week. Hopefully forgetting this week ever happened. Since this is gonna be a serious therapy drinking session I am going to need some new ideas for drinks. In the mood to try something different. What are your favorites? I love tequila based drinks so if you have any good tequila recipes please share. Honestly I am up for pretty much anything so let me hear your ideas.

Thanks everyone for just letting me vent for a minute and I look forward to trying some new exciting drinks.

Garth

P.S. Hindsight, it has still not been bad enough to drink Maple Crown.

Don't worry, I finished that off months ago. ;) Just don't offer me any Tekillya and we will be good.

Tequila makes me feed birds. Blech. I suggest vodka, cranberry, a splash of tonic or grapefruit juice. Follow that with some cherry bombs (cherry schnapps shot with redbull) and you will forget the week. Sorry this week has sucked, here's to a better one next week.

I've got a case of Yuengling and some bottles of homemade apple pie at home if you would absolutely need them. :D

I am not a big fan of tequila so I do not have any good suggestions. However I can supply you a case of Bud Light if you would like.

I know your not a big rum fan but Captain Morgan and ginger ale tastes just like cream soda.

I love fresh margaritas in the summer time. Lime juice, a splash of Cointreau and tequila. LOTS OF TEQUILA. I think Cazadores offers the best bang for your buck. Love me a salted rim too.

If I'm drinking to drink I might just get a styrofoam cup full of ice and keep refilling it with vodka and whatever kind of papaya/guava/passion concoction I can find at the corner store. Goes down like, well, juice. And works quickly.

Equal parts tequila, Grand Marnier and margarita mix with a little lime on top. I like mine simple and with a bite.

i believe ron zacapa 23years or pyrat rum planters gold could turn anyone into a rum lover - in fact the only alcohol i drink - these brands are that good

When I'm drinking tequila it's usually when I'm camping, mixed with Ruby red grapefruit juice. If the Ruby red runs out, mountain dew code red ain't bad.

I have been mixing Cabo Wabo with Diet Mt. Dew for years but never tried code red. Gonna give that a try. Gonna pick up a new bottle of Vodka as well. That mixes good with just about anything. Probably grab a case of Yuengling as well just to finish off the night.

These two work well together, and by together I mean a dash or two or three of the whiskey in the mug with the beer.

Strength through superior firepower...

Saki bombs
Irish car bombs
Starf#¢kers

Or just jello shots til ya drop.

:)

Ha, I have the solution for you my friend!

Ungava gin.

It is a Canadian Gin made with 6 wild herbs/berries from northern Canada wilderness

Wild Rose Hips
Arctic Blend
Cloudberry
Labrador Tea
Crowberry
Nordic Juniper

Pop an ice cube in your glass, let it cool down and envoy!
You really should try it. This is pure Canadian perfection!

I've had pretty good luck blacking out turning prairie fire shots into a mixed drink. Tequila with tabasco and lime to taste. Failing that, Jaxx's suggestion of Irish Car Bombs is always a good fail safe.

If you like tomato juice make a bloody maria. The easiest way is Hot & Spicy V8 and tequila. You can also use regular V8, tequila, and then add in your own blend of seasoning.

There are a ton of recipes for a margarita, but really all you need is good tequila, lime juice and a triple sec type liqueur. Use the following ratio: 1.5 oz tequila : .5 oz triple sec : 1 oz lime juice. You can salt the rim of a glass with kosher salt or omit the salt. If you drink an actual margarita and not the watered down sugar water crap that most places sell you will get drunk in a hurry. Pour a big one: 4.5 oz tequila, 1.5 oz triple sec, 3 oz lime juice.

Cheap tequila is usually mixed with grapefruit pop (try Fresca or Squirt) or taken as shots and chased by sangrita (not related to the wine-based sangria) or lime juice. When I drink tequila I like to have jalapeño salt (Fiesta brand), take the shot, and then have a bit of Mexican lime or a little Fresca/Squirt. I've killed many bottles by taking shots.

The cheapest good tequila is El Jimador. Where I live the reposado is usually under $30 for 1.75L. The añejo is better but it's about $20 for 750ml. El Jimador is 100% made from agave so it's not the rotgut stuff like Montezuma or Jose Cuervo. All real tequilas are labeled "100% de agave". If it doesn't say that, it's not tequila, but rather a mixto, which is a mix of low quality tequila and usually grain alcohol.

When I'm in the mood for something sweet and fruity I go for Pearl Harbors.
Vodka Madori and Pineapple juice. Be careful cuz they go down like coolaid and creep up on ya.
