Just a thought. Now I'm as guilty as anyone for shooting off a backup email or two. In the last Ganzaaaaaa, I sent one at 9:55, one a minute later, and one after Jerry got the GO! up on BFC.

However, what if you only had one shot? Wouldn't that condition up the odds a little bit and get the old adrenaline pumping?

  • Accidentally hit SEND? You're out.
  • Believe a fake Jerry? You're out.
  • Forget to synch your computer clock with Greenwich? Out.
  • Old GO! post fool you? Out.
  • Paralyzed by fear into waiting an hour? Out.

This scenario would certainly lead to a lot of bellyaching and whimpering, but think of the FUN!!!

Bring on the ONE SHOT GANZAAAAAA!!! :D
 
I feel like a tweaker waiting for my next fix. I am about to leave for work and no email.

One Shot - One Email - cool

I think Amy would be all over this - but then she also liked my "Pick a number" contest :)
 
i usually send backups but not this time, it is really hard sorting through the emails. i just sent one and will wait and see if they got it.
 
I like the idea of the One Shot Ganzaaa, but I LOVE the Random Ganzaaaa.
How awesome would it be to see a totally unannounced Go! Go! Go!......
I thought I read in Paddling Man's Ganzaa tutorial about these random Ganzaaas
occuring in the past. Is this correct?
If so, could someone please reminisce a bit for those of who have never seen them.
 
How bout this scenario: at 9pm Jerry posts a GO with a riddle of some sort and you have 30 minutes to send in your email which includes the correct answer and your order.

This time I did label them at least, so they could be trashed quickly as duplicates.

Jerry sometimes played a game, to warm up our internet skills prior to the Ganza.


He'd post a clue here,

Then he'd post, in some weird, off the wall, obscure chat room somewhere out on the web,

our job, track him down, and find that post.


That would make for an interesting Ganza 'GO'

Internet version of Hog Tags.

Trouble is that it's only fair for those in similar time zones. If you want fair across the board, there needs to be some other way.

At least with a given time, most people can arrange to get online even if it means staying up until 3am.
 
I think Jerry should bury some INFI, post obscure clues as to locations, and then...

... waitaminute.
 
I think I sent more than one email just once when I fell for a fake go :grumpy:. Otherwise I always just send one.

This is just one of the many many reasons why Amy likes me BEST :D :D :D :thumbup:
 
Pfffft; I sent one email about half an hour after the back up time (since I didn't read about that fact until the servers were back up) and I got my first choices. Nanner nanner. No ulcers; no blisters on my F5 finger.
