What about Ed Kalfayan ?

What is the word on Kalfayan ? Does he have a web site ? Is there anywhere that I can find pics of his work ? I have a folding 4 inch dagger coming from a fellow formite and was wondering what people thought of his work ? Any insight would be great .

Ed is a terrific guy. Works a lot of 440C mirror polished, and some damascus. Does a lot of ivory. He's always got a fun table to look at because he works in such a variety of styles.

Ed Kalfayan is a great guy...I have never met him , but spoke with him several times on the phone...i had him make me two large 5" blade folders...they turned out incredible! I just traded a Kalfayan to a fellow forumite OH! that was you wasn't it Edd?

He does not have a web site...The card I am sending you with the knife has his telephone number and he is very pleasant to talk to, I first found out about his blades from E bay...some guy was selling em there and sells several of them from time to time....Eds prices are very reasonable for the work he does...He has been in the knifemakers guild for at least 25 years I believe... makes swords,daggers bowies...lock backs liner locks, etc.............If you request, he will send a catalog..(b/w photos only) and he also sent me several nice color shots of folders he has made......

Edd...if you read this before my e mail...knife is on its way as of this morning and you should have it by 3 pm tomorrow.....

Ed is one of the most underrated makers in the country. His work is great and he grinds as well or better than anybody in the art.He is having some surgery this week and will be not working for about a mounth.I have a few of his knives and I couldn't be happier . He did a pair of daggers,Scrimed by Sandy Brady, That were featured in Blades and they are in POI V.

Ed is a great guy, and a terrific knifemaker. He is also one of the most helpful guys around as far as newby knifemaker questions. Ed is the guy who told me about that pink flux and solder combo that Koval sells. That stuff works great!
