You only ever hear about the XM-18, I was wondering why his other knives aren't as popular and if they are as good as his XM-18:confused:

They are definitely just as good. He makes some nice fixed blades as well as some nice titanium kubatons. You just hear more about the XM18 because that is his main knife and he makes more of those than anything else.

I think it's probably because it's the most attractive of his designs, and still unique. Also, I don't know the materials in the others, but the market really LOVES titanium framelocks, so those do well usually whoever makes them.

The Firetac is an excellent knife. I've never owned one, but had the chance to handle one. It's very similar to the XM-18, but both scales are Ti with an insert on the non-lock side. The pivot seemed to be a little less beefy, and I didn't notice the lockbar stabilizer, but an excellent knife nonetheless.

i just saw a firetac for sale (it sold quickly) on a dealer site for around $675. all of his knives are top notch quality, i think like tjsulli790 said, they're just not as common. also, the xm-18 is the only knife with a mid-tech variation, and his custom prices have seemed to get very expensive, so that could be another reason why.

I was wanting a Firetac long before the XM-18's came out. I wish I would have gotten an order in back then. :(

There was a Hinderer Dauntless sold at Tad Gear a few years ago that was incredible. That was one wicked knife.
