What Abrasive for Phenolic Handles?

What abrasives should I use to reduce the slickness of Buck phenolic handles...without putting deep scratches in the material? Thanks.

One thousand grit sand paper would do it. Use lightly. DM

Find a real small diameter bicycle tire tube cut a piece and slip it over the handle. Rubber bands work too.

I have also used the bike tubes...works!
