Have been collecting (58 folders and 21 fixed, very junior in this forum) for a bit and am now at a point of fatigue. Self diagnosing, I am sick of crap QC on recent under $300 knives (CruCarta, Native 5 cf/s90v, Osborne 940-1), and worn out from spousal tantrums with over $500 knives (CRK, RHK, Shiro). Question for the experts, please help me find a $200-500 knife that is carry friendly, not made in Golden (I am okay w Taiwan), not a Benchmade, with top notch QC and a value to the buyer. 3-3.5”. My faves for edc are a varied bunch with a GB2, F3NS, Enzo Birk 75, Hinderer Eklipse, and LionSteel BnLaw currently.

I would like to avoid anything that is made in China or assembled in the US of majority Chinese parts.

Thank you!

The new Hinderer Project X is at the top of your price list at $500, but it does meet your listed specs.

I ordered one myself (it arrives this week) 👍🏻

So long as you are not opposed to knives from China, I think right now the best quaity you'll find in the $200-$500 range is from Reate OEMs. I've owned more Reate's than any other single brand and had fewer issues with them vs CRK, RHK, Shiro, TRM, Benchmade, Spyderco.

Some examples I'd recommend:
Pena X Series Front Flippers, Ochs Osprey EDX, Sharp By Design, Liong Mah, Ohlone, Moen Tooling.

And because all recommendation threads deserve pictures:

Liong Mah KUF 3.0, Ohlone Goat, Osprey EDX, SBD Micro Evo Typhoon, Pena Trapper

Go look at Viper and Maserin. Collector Knives is a member here.
I’m waiting on a Maserin Police from them.

Johnny, congrats on being in the drop. I am looking forward to reviews on the X from yourself and other members here. Quite a few RHKs in the house already. Enjoy your new RHK!

Dan, beautiful knives! You brought it up and I forgot to add that China is a no go.

Bailey Knives Model 4 fits your specs.
