What am I missing?

I am having trouble finding the next perfect folder that I need to own. I am looking for something that looks like an Emerson CQC-7A (hard to find and a little expensive) or the Cold Steel Recon 1 spear point (only avaliable in PS). I am not looking for anything fancy, just a tactical style folder around 4-5in. closed with either Axis(or similar), framelock, or liner lock. I am not a steel snob but I would at least like AUS-8 or higher. I also like the looks of the Sebenza and the Strider PT, but both are out of my price range. I have a ZT 0200 and a Cold Steel American Lawman on the way. I also just reicieved a Kershaw Lahar and I really like it, but I have a couple issues with it. There aren't any Spydercos that fit the bill I don't already own. No plastic handles please, preferably G-10 or titanium. I would like to keep it at or below $150. Also, I would like to be able to get replacement parts fairly easily and have a good warranty. (exclude BM from this, they are too nice to not consider). I am looking pretty hard at the Benchmade Blackwater 16707(any feedback?), and another 710. What havn't I looked at I might like. Bring on the suggestions.

I'd get a Kershaw JunkYard Dog knife model 1720. The unserrated blade is 3" long and made out of Sandvik 13C26 Stainless Steel. The handle of the Dog is 410 stainless steel and has AirForce markings. Retail is $65. And, it's made in USA.

I had a JYDII and still have a JYD. I liked it, but it wasn't what I was looking for. The design didn't appeal to me as much as I hoped.

What's the difference between the American Lawman and the Recon I? I've got a Recon I that I like and liked the looks of the Lawman, but think they are almost the same so I didn't bother buying the Lawman.

Benchmade Rift 950. 154CM steel, Axis lock, black or satin blade, combo edge or plain, 3.67 inch blade. You can get them on the Bay for 120.

It's big - but not unduly heavy. Lowrider clip means it shows less than almost anything else in it's size range in a production knife.Parts - it's a Kershaw - nobody's better at CS.Only knife I like more is the original smaller MUDD -which un-fortunately is no longer made.

The Lawman is a lockback and the Recon 1 is a Axis look-alike. There are other differences but the main reason I got the Lawman was because I wanted to see the new Tri-Ad lock and I got a good deal on it.

I am really thinking about picking one up. I would like to see the 0200 first, but I think it will be a little too thick for me, so I may try to trade it for a MUDD. I would really like to stay with Kershaw, I have gotten very good service from them.

You'll find reviews on the MUDD passaround here. Mine starts with post 44. I beat the snot outta this thing, and it never bothered it.

BJE---A Sodbuster! Don't laugh. This folder is a folding butcher-knife!! I had some Top folders, and still do, but the Sodbuster is in my pocket. You might want a pocket clip installed on it for your purposes. Also, $25. smackers!!

I am going to suggest something new here, the Alias 1 from Bradley Cutlery in Indiana. It is made with S30V Blade Steel, 6AL 4V Titanium Handle, and a titanium mono-lock (frame-lock) design for extreme strength. It is a modified spear point, 3.6 inch blade. I would put this up against knives costing much more. Like many manufacturers the retail price shown on the web site can be beaten by retailers, I have found the Alias 1 for as low as $202.00.

I know all to well about the sodbuster, I have owned many and still have a couple. Not what I am looking for at the moment.

I have considered the Alias I, but I really like the look of the Sebenza better and if I am going to spend that much on one knife, I might as well spend it on that.

OK. Then, it has to be the Sebenza. This a knife that I will Never sell. I just had a nice talk with T.K.C. about this. :)

How about the Benchmade H&K 14205?

Also, if you dont mind me asking, what are your issues with the Lahar?
