Don't know if this was asked in the past, but out of curiosity what was your first Becker and why did you purchase it. For me it was the BK11. First came across them about 5 years ago. I was looking for a necker and was curious. After getting it I used it to open a few boxes, but then found out I was going to be a daddy so I boxed it back up and put it away for my son when he gets old enuf along with a BK9HH I got right before his birth. He'll be set with two decent blades for his future outings.

[My first becker was the bk7 because I couldn't make up my mind between bk2 or the bk9. Since then I have picked up a bk2 and just ordered a bk9. I sold the bk7 on ebay. I really like the bk2 can't say enough good things about it. The bk7 was nice but it wasn't big enough to be a good chopper, or small enough to carry daily.

Mine was a Crewman that I paid $42 IIRC 5 or 6 years ago. Still contend that this was the greatest value purchase of all my gear given how much, and how well, it has performed

Liked it so much I ordered a BK7. And, although it doesn't get much use, it's amazingly functional dexterity, for a large blade, has prevented me from selling it.

BK7, 11yrs ago at Smoky Mountain Knifeworks. I liked it so much, handling it there at the counter, I bought 3. Never looked back. Best damn knives for the money out there. If someone asks what would be the best knife for an outdoors beginner, thats the one I recommend. "The Little Black Dress of the Becker Line". Goes anywhere, from stable to steeple.

Same here other than that 'boxing it up' jazz. Mine is around my neck most of the time it can be. I hope to clean deer with it this season if I'm fortunate enough to put another one on the ground.

you intend to kill bambi?? how preposterous I can't believe you, you barbarian.. :D

Bambi better watch his ass, GK ain't the only one gunnin' for some meat. I got a trip out planned over TksGvn, I hope in the little time I get to go out this year, will put some blood on the Becker, it could use some that ain't mine for a change:D:thumbup:

I guess my first was the new Eskabar BK14.
I've been reading about the Beckers for a while, was curious about the BK11. I wasn't sure that I liked the bottle opener at the butt, so I hesitated. The ESEE Izula seemed a bit small for me.
I added the Izula micarta scales and I've been using it here and there.
Now, I just ordered a BK2, but with black micarta scales, and a custom Kydex sheath.
At first it seemed expensive, but I saw the cost of micarta scales at Rocky National. Add the shipping to those scales, and a better sheath ($40) or so, and there you go.
Here's the link to what I ordered.

my first Becker was not long ago, I had a CS SRK C5 and sold it, was looking for something in that blade range and cam across the BK7, picked it up and I'm really glad I did.. Much better.. love the handle.. love the knife, its a paper pusher (pushes through paper) now that I've removed coating and convexed it.. coating was coming off after some abuse and I simply don't care for that look on any of my knives..

My first was the BK2 (very quickly added micarta grips, and a BK11 for the wife). I was very new to knives, and wanted something for camp chores. I LOVE this huge hunk of metal!
I'm hoping to add a BK9 in the next couple months....

I ordered my First today after all the Great reviews The BK2.... yeah I can't wait!

Welcome to the Becker forum, and Blade Forums in general, fastsled.

You'll love the BK-2. We need pics of it in use, of course, once you get it.

Once again, welcome aboard!

ditto, Welcome FlatSled good to have you here, I too just ordered a BK2 I'm sure you'll love it as much as I KNOW I will...

Post often, there's an endless amount of information on this site..

My first BK is my beloved Camillus Magnum Camp I bought over ten years ago. It's a heavy duty survivalist carving knife for the 21st Century Longhunter.

Effingham Blackjack Magnum Camp. It sat in the display case at a local gunshop for months, whining pitifully every time I came in. One day, it just followed me home. Outstanding design, great execution. Mine gets a lot of kitchen time as well. Trying to wrangle a Kabar version, want to put the BJ out to pasture, but like the design too much to live without one.

well, i think my first Becker should be obvious ;)

My brother bought be a Camillus BK10 in Desert Tan for my birthday some years back. I had never heard of Becker knives before, but I fell in love with this thing instantly. At the time, it was the sharpest knife I had ever handled. Months later, I bought him the identical knife for his birthday and a while later, I got him a patrol machete. I was crushed when I heard Camillus went out of business and Becker was no more. I was overjoyed when I found out that KA-BAR was bringing them back.

BK2, just a beast of a knife that I think can pretty much to it all. It is my go to work knife.
