I am getting ready to sharpen my Izula and I was not sure on what angel to sharpen it on. I am using a Lansky sharpening kit and I was thinking a 20 or 25 degree angle. Any recommendations?\

Thanks

well you had a 50/50 shot but, I think you might have a hard time finding the right angel to sharpen anything on :)

I know some sharp angels....

If you want if to perform really well a 12-17 angle is good. If you prefer a "utility edge" 20 degrees is good.

there was a thread a while back where a guy had sharpened his all the way down to 8 degrees (I think it was 8?). The knife will take more care this way, but it will out perform any other.

I am planning on taking mine down to 12 once I get a sharpener. -I cant freehand for crap.

If that does not suit you, you could just bone an angelic model.

We're testing them now. As soon as we are finished with our testing we will send them out.

We have two working prototypes at the moment. And while we do not plan to test to destruction, every one of these that rolls off the assembly line will be personally tested just to make sure they're good to go, but we will not be offering any warranty on these models!

That is probably because they are too high-maintenance and don't maintain an edge for long.

Def will want to trade up for a newer model in a couple of years anyhow.

I skip the beta test of this prototype. I am afraid my stone is too coarse for sharpening this model 8)

I'll take 2 IF they are untested. I prefer to put my own edge on them. I also want an option to trade them when their attitude changes about being used.

What I want to know is how temperamental is the heat treat? I hear it can be a bitch.... :D

Maybe you can combine the testing of this and and the testing of the RC10.
I dont think the angels need any kind of textile
