What angle do most knife companies give their knives?

What would you say the approximate angle that most pocket knives come with? What about kitchen knives? Or maybe it can be more specific even, such as the angle for each company? I know this can't be exact, but an approximation would be nice.

I have read that spyderco comes at 15 per side, and I believe that most knives come in between 15-20 degrees per side, kitchen knives are often even less, since they cut soft food, and don't need to hold up in tough jobs.

It is a mystery.

Personally I don't think most makers hold to any particular angle at all. Most of my knives came with bevels at different angles on each side and even along the same side, not to mention bevels that don't meet all along the edge.

Could just be the cheap knives I buy though.

Varies wildly. Spyderco is pretty consistent right around 15 deg. They are sharpened by hand so there is some small variation, I have one that came at 12 and one at 17 but most were right around 15 per side.

Knives from most other companies seem to be sharpened right around 20 deg per side, but I have seen a few that were well over 20. And there are also a few that are well below. BRKTs have a terminal angle on their convex grind of right around 13 deg per side.
