Just wondering if there are any significant differences between the benchmade 805 TSEK AXIS and the benchmade 806 AFCK AXIS besides the thumbstand vs the oval hole and the AFCK being .03 inches longer on the blade.

Whoops... looks like i answered my own question, the 806 has D2 blade. For a newbie knife sharpener does anyone think it would be a disadvantage to have D2?

The 805 TSEK and the 806D2 AfCK have the same handle but two totally different blade shapes. TSEK is a modified drop point, and the AFCK is a clip point.

I have both and like both but lean towards the 806 if I had to choose. Because of the more narrow blade it's a little more efficient cutting.

D2 will be a little more difficult to sharpen but I think equates to taking a little more time to sharpen and is not a measure of skill. You can either sharpen a knife or you can't - just depends on how much time you're willing to put into it ;)
