What are jeweled liners?

Pardon my ignorance, I'm new to knife terminology, and a new convert from cutters

It's just a finishing style that leaves little marks on the blade or liners that almost remind me of shiny fish scales. Check out the knives on this site:

Richard Derespina uses it quite a bit on his knives. Probably the best example is on his 'EDCC' knife towards the bottom of the page.

Another, possibly more familiar, term for "Jeweled" is "Machined".

I've also heard the term "engine-turned" fwiw.
