Keshar Lal Villager Utility Kukri/Knife. It's something of a distinct model, but it is similar to some other models.
Keshar Lal (Kami's name) Village Utility (some call them "Ugly" 
) Knife.
As you saw, they still bear the forge marks, so on the scale of "refinement" they are below the next class, the satin ones ("Villager fit and finish") and the polished ones. They are for those that are looking for a blade just as functional as the "fancier" ones (at the same weight) but at a sweeter price. "Rough around the edges" (although most likely very sharp), but purely functional, carry-around, everyday type of knife.

There's one that looks like a big meat cleaver. Is that the one you're thinking of?

The VUK's were a joint effort between Bura and Keshar Lal to make a general all around utility knife without all the bells and whistles.

I believe they are also produced as something of a hat-tip to the community, in that 1) collectors do not want to damage their prizes, and 2) new people can experience the quality and performance at an entry level price (less than a BK-2).

There was one offered yesterday or the day before. The DBVUK are also available, same design different kami. I prefer the DBVUK due to its fuller design.
