busy day for me on the forums i had a break at the hosue so what are neck knives ive heard a bit about them what are they exactly

Neck knives are generally smaller lighter knives (though not always) that ride in a secure sheather hanging from a chain or cord worn around the neck. The ones I generally have owned/seen are in a tip-up position with the handle dangling from the bottom for easy acces.

If you're looking for a cheap one that is high quality, I'd recommend looking at the Camillus ArcLite which securely locks in a kydex sheath and hangs from a chain around your neck. You can get one from 1sks for twenty bucks.

You could put nacho cheese sauce on it...

Other examples that quickly come to mind:

CRKT Stiff KISS, Neck PECK, Bear Claw
Cold Steel Para Edge series
Newt Livesay Woo
Emerson La Griffe

Trilan, the Arclite is a good inexpensive choice, but since you stated that you're only 15 on the other topic you posted, I suggest you be very careful. Leave the knife at home and don't put yourself at risk.

Many of the nonmetallic knives come in a neck knife format, but young or old, carrying this sort of thing can be embarrassing or worse if you get searched for being in an area that restricts them. Which, I believe, includes all of California, and many public buildings, like court houses. Since their usefulness pretty much begins and ends with damaging humans, carrying one makes you look like you were looking for trouble.

This is my Neck Ninja model next to a MT DA SOCOM for size comparison.

Neck knives don't HAVE to be worn around the neck, they also travel quite well in a horizontal belt sheath.

have a few neck knives, and would have to rate the woo as #1 (@ $25.00) very closely follwed by the arclite (@ $20.00) - either 1 is a good knife - just like the woo a little bit better ..........

I like the Woo also. I like small fixed-bladed knives, so I have a number of them, but the Woo is the one that is always with me.
