i have found only a couple knife blank options and figured i would register on this forum to ask people that have likely had similar aspirations as me. as the title alludes, i would like a > 6" 1095 blade with a flat and thick back; i.e. .25". i would like to keep the cost down below 60 dollars. i have seen some finished knives i may consider for my project but figured i may be able to save money if i could just purchase a blank.

do you have any links or images you can provide to help my search?

thanks for your time and consideration.

I have not found any decent commercial blade blanks in 1095 but I've found them in D2 and such. At our price range you can find complete knives from Ontario, Kabar and Becker that you could use for your projects. Also I'm sure you could find people like Darrin Sanders in the custom knifemaker forums here that would make blade blanks for you.

Did you ever find the blank you were looking for? I am looking for a similar blank and have yet to find it. I am wanting a full convex blade so buying a blade like a bk2 is not really an option, besides it is not the profile I want. Its so crazy 1095 is so cheap and so many companies use it but cant seem to find a blank. :(
