I read an anecdote the other day on some website, and it was about two guys who get into a fight and one of them uses a knife. At the end of the anecdote, the narrator mentions something about "reinforced 550s" which he described as "knife fighting jeans" I was just curious what it is about these jeans that makes them knife fighting jeans? I own several pairs of Levis 550s, does this mean when people see me wearing them they're going to assume I'm some kind of knife fighter ? And What does he mean by reinforced ?

I'm not aware of any "reinforced" 550s made by Levi's.

It could be that someone stitched some extra material to a pair of 550s to make them more resistant to knife cuts. If I were to do this myself, I think I'd use thick leather...

Hi All-

They do have garments called "Draggin' Jeans" designed for motorcyclists that are reinforced with Kevlar in the knees and crotch for improved abrasion-resistance on asphalt. They wouldn't even slow down a thrusted knife.

Yes reinforced jeans are jeans available in motorcycle shops that look like ordinary denim pants but either have portions made out of denm died kevlar, or the whole pants is made out of one layer of kevlar. This will give you some added protection when you wan't to dress casual.

Actually, there is a strategically placed layer of activated charcoal to absorb gaseous emanations. Thus, you can fart in such crowded situations as elevators, gondolas, small conference rooms etc. with extreme confidence of nobody detecting your farts. ;) :p
