inexpensive as in less than 40 and in mod i mean change in blade shpe handle shape or edge changes and pics would be appreciated

I took a 14" Tramontina Cane machete and cut, reprofiled and sharpened the blade and then spray painted the blade. The leading edge is also sharpened. It's a wicked bush cutter and general hacker.

It makes a fun thrower also and throws and sticks like a Hawk.

I love my Tramontina and Imacasa machetes, also my Cold Steel Bolo. Don't bother with the cheap stainless ones commonly sold at most sporting goods and hardware stores. The most any of them really needed was a bit of sandpaper/wood rasp work on the handles to fit my hand a bit better, and most will need a good sheath. After that it comes down to putting a good edge on em.

Here's most of my collection.

The bolos have had a small amount removed from the back near the tip to make them a small amount pointier, the CS bolo has had the handle reshaped into a more traditional form and all the handles have been smoothed out. Over on the Outdoors forum there's sure to be more. I generally don't do a whole lot because I like mine just the way they are - small amounts of steel removed can effect the balance and sweet spot. My favorite hands down is the Tram 14" bolo (third down) - the thing is a beast for its size and weight, actually gives my hatchets a run for their money even on harder seasoned wood. Here's a real quick review I did.

Here's another one I recalled that turned out real nice
