what are some knives I can beat up with causing little to no damage to the knife????

Sorry dude, you are kind of asking for the impossible. Everything you described will do nothing but damage a knife. There basically is not a knife that is super lightweight and also a tank. You have to either want a lightweight knife, or a tank.

There are a million options for lightweight, and some of them are also pretty strong (namely most anything from Bark River Knife & Tool). If you want a tank knife, there are also a multitude of options. The Becker line from Ka-bar is pretty much all indestructible, the BK2 being arguably the tankiest. Blind Horse Knives makes quite a few tanky knives too.

Remember that the heavier a knife is, generally the stronger it is (with steel being the determining factor), and vice versa.

I second Mora. they have some great options at a lower budget, in both High carbon and Stainless. your not going to find any thing under or even at 3 OZ. The Brous Blades silent soldier I have around my neck today tips your scale at 3.2 OZ and its a 2.5 inch neck knife. My go to Camping knife is a Blind Horse Knives Workhorse. BHK offers Quality Hand made knives made to be used and in your price range.

Get yourself a rubber trainer if you want something to drop and beat up. You certainly won't damage it.

Now, if you want something to actually cut with then get yourself a Mora. You stated that you were looking for something under 3 ounces? Well, can't get much lighter in weight than a Mora. They are ideal for hiking and camping. It's all about having the right tool for the right job, my man.

How long does it need to be?

ESEE Izula or Becker BK14 would both be under 3 ozs and pretty much impossible to break. On the shorter side though

if it's too heavy your to weak,haha... only 3 oz on what should be your primary survival device is a bit light, especially if your asking to beat it up ....that said mora's your best bet for your criteria even with $300 to spend , if you really want to beat on something it's going to cost you some weight otherwise keep the task and force relative to the tool
