I have read a few good knife books like Terzuola's Making of a Folder, Complete Guide to Hunting Knives and one of Bernard Levince's Guidebooks.

I am trying to find some good titles but came up short of ideas.

What are some of the better titles on this subject?

The best I've found is Wayne Goddards $50 Knife shop. I'd previously tried to forge damascus and failed.
With Mr Goddards book and some help in the forums I managed to do it and am happy with the results. Best money I've spent on a book

A few of my favorites.
Antique Bowie Knife Book. (Tough to find and expensive, but worth every penny) (Thanks Tom! I think of you every time I open the book.)

Knives Points of Interest. No collector of Customs should be deprived of this wonderous series.

The World of Custom Knives. (ditto from above)

Bill Moran Fire and Steel. Out of print, but not un-obtainable.

Master of the Forge (another book on Bill).

The Best of Knife World (Another series each chock full of information on customs, military and antiques.)

Modern Handmade Knives by B.R. Hughes.

How to Make Folding Knives (Ron Lake, Wayne Clay and Frank Centofonte)

Another How to Make Folding Knives (Eugene Shadley, Terry Davis)

Thanks for the info, Pinpoint, Gus.

I know about those Moran books. Have checked with Barnes&Noble as well as Amazon. They cost quite a bit.

Will keep a keen eye out for the others, though. Thanks guys.

I noticed that you already mentioned a "Levine Guide". I picked up the Fifth Edition of Levine's Guide to Knives and Their Values yesterday. The publish date is 2001. It might be one to consider if you haven't gotten that edition.

The Razoredge Book of Sharpening by Razor Edge Systems is also a "must read", IMHO. It gives you some excellent insight into what actually takes place during the sharpening process.

The 4 favorites in my "knife book library" are:

"Knife Fighting Encylopedia" by W. Hock Hochheim
"Master of the Blade" by Richard Ryan
"Modern Knife Combat" by Greg Walker
"Modern Combat Blades" by Duncan Long

My wife has a copy for me for Christmas and she is leaving it out in plain sight -- just to taunt me. Will I like it (when I finally get to look inside)?

If you are going to get Levines Guide to Knives and Their Value, get one of the first four editions, with Edition four being the best as far as I am concerned. The reason for this is that Bernard Levine had nothing to do with the fifth edition of this book.

Other books that I really like are: The Gun Digest Book of Knives series, the Knives annuals (with 2003 having just been published), Knives and Knifemakers by Sid Latham (thanks for this one, Shel), all of the books by Jim Hrisoulas, Bowies, Big Knives, and the Best of Battle Blades by Bill Bagwell, Knife Talk by Ed Fowler and Randall Made Knives: The History of the Man and the Blades by Robert L. Gaddis.
