what are the better performing damascus steels? do they compare to the "super" steels

i do like the look of some of the different damascus steels but for usage i wonder how well do they compare to the different standard "super" steels like, M4, ZDP-189, S30V or even basics like 1095, 440C or others

joe caswell uses a paul bos heat treated damascus on some of his edc folders.

i think it is rated at 62rc. i had one for a while, and it took a great edge and held it well.

You can expect only a few reactions to this question. Relatively people have and use damascus blades.
I've heard some guys in the chris reeve forum say they actually think the damascus used on sebenzas is better than s30v in edge retention. Most of crk damascus is done by devin thomas.
