What are the chances of a US version of the Penknife?

The clip on that knife seems ideal for really low carry, and I am a huge fan of Spyderco's G-10. The S30V is fantastic steel.

All that sucker needs is a lock (compression? frame?) and distribution on the U.S. side of the Atlantic. What a great little EDC that would be!

Someone recently tried to start a support thread over on the other forum, and it toally fizzled. I was totally surprised at the lack of general interest in the idea. I don't think that there is enough support in the market for it.

Sadly, it looks like Carlos is right.

I'd be for a locking UK Penknife, but I'd be happy with a G-10 Caly Jr, or a Mini Manix, many other things would fill this void for me.

I think the Para-Military has a close spec with the pen knife already.

I suppose it depends on how fine-toothed a comb you use to seperate things, but I'd have to disagree. Beyond the fact that both are made from G-10 and S30V, they are very different animals.

the closest knife to a lockable penknife is the calypso Jr in terms of shape and handling, but the materials used on the calypso are very different. (AUS-8 and FRN)
but before giving up on the UK pen, I suggest you try it (ok it's gonna be tough to find one...), many people have been pleasantly surprised by the slipjoint which is nowhere near a SAK, Laguiole, Case (I wouldn't have bought it)...

I'm all for a US Pen Knife. I already have one, but I'd get another if they released it here. How about with Green G-10 ala Lil T'?

As for the Para being close to it, I think I am with Ritt on this one. . . they are very different beasts.

I voted on your thread Moon, I would buy two! I was really surprised on how little the response was.

Maybe it's too close to the Standard? (Anybody remember the Standard?) If that knife had S30V instead of ATS-55, it would be in my pocket every day. G-10. Super low carry. Nice EDC size. Lockback. I still carry it, of course--just not as often as I do knives with better steel.

y not just do another sprint run of the uk pen knife? it seems the demand is there everyone is sold out and y go messing w/ something that works already? if it aint broke dont fix it its already a great knife

I don't think Heinnie Haynes is sold out, but it's in the UK and a little more expensive.
