What are the differences in the Endura vs the Endura 4?

Hello,

I was thinking of purchasing custom scales for my Endura, and was wondering if there were any differences in the scales and back spacer for the Endura and the Endura 4? Would anyone know? I have been looking online and have not had much luck.

Thanks for the info.

The first generation of the Endura had a one piece injection molded handle with an integral molded clip. The second was the all stainless model. The third generation had a one piece injection molded handle with a metal clip attached with a barrel bolt that also served as a lanyard tube. If your Endura has screws holding it together, it is an Endura 4.

Current Endura also has skeletonized steel liner and less pointy blade tip. Also, earlier editions had the volcano grip pattern whereas the current edition has the bi-directional texture grip pattern.

Thanks for the information!
It seems I have an Endura and not an Endura 4.
It has no screws and has a handle that is injection molded. That means no changing of the scales.
It also only has two pins and a barrel bolt as a lanyard tube as said above, without the three small screws for the clip.
It also has the markings Clipit and Endura in the handle, which I just noticed.
This is my first knife. It has also had a krein re-grind.
Since Tom hasn't been taking regrinds, I am thinking of upgrading the knife and keeping it for sentimental reasons, but it seems no other mods can be made.
Thanks again for the info! Makes me appreciate the knife more.
Best regards.

It might cost more than you'd be willing to pay, but Spydercos with one piece unlined FRN handles have been upgraded. The gent who did these no longer does this kind of work, but it does show what's possible.

This one started life as an Atlantic Salt. Blade was modfied from sheepsfoot to wharncliffe, handle was replaced with birdseye maple scales over titanium liners and a titanium backspacer:

This one started life as an FRN C16 Goddard, now has an anodized titanium handle and matching clip...
