I'm sure that I'm not the only one curious as to what the kamis are coming up with, being that they have been given artistic freedom to produce anything they want, "as long as it cuts..."

Can we have some hints on what was already made, or what some kamis voiced they'd like to fashion? Any feedback from Gelbu or Pala?

Until then, I suspect we'll see:

1. Multifunction expandable length folding Khukuris
2. A functional example of the mythical boomerang khukuri
3. "Curved straight razors" for shaving (sharpened by Dan Koster)

any more....?

Dan :)

If we look at past unexpected goodies, I think we have absolutly nothing to go on lol.

As long as there are some very nice blades around the 12" mark i'll be happy and emailing.

Here is a pic of a one-off hi made i feel compelled to post.
kanchi1.jpg

Wish list is : 12" knives good performing camp knife or something capable of being a daily carry (hi kanchi), d-handle khuk , variations on existing khuks (chaindadi for example) and I pray for a bagh marne (search "sharp pics")

Who knows we might have Bura working on more folders.

Predictions (speculations):
Unlikely but a balisong would be nice to see. Illegal most places but it would be nice to see the kamis take on it.
A couple of axes.
Maybe a farm implement or two (kama, sickle, etc...)
If im lucky (or unlucky acording to my wallet) a european style sword.

Cleaver although not my cup o'tea is desired by many, would be nice to see.

The kami's know that we are in the hunting knife style demand right now from the Sarge one off, perhaps a few of that genre.

Perhaps the real question is will there be enough to go around? :D
Anyone pick up on HI special runs getting smaller? 14" seax , 10" bdc and now a 7" 3/4 hunting knife.

If Kumar makes a few more of those Museum D-handle khukuris I will jump on it like Oprah on a baked ham.

I expect scissors, toenail clippers and disposable razors.

All starting around the 14 oz mark of course...

 :D Now that is a man who likes D-handled Khurks. I for one would like to see a ax, a big freak'in double bladed battle ax or one single blade with a 8"-10" curved spike on the other side. The blade should have a cutting edge of about 10"-12", if that makes sense. Oh sure it would be silly and be about 27lbs knowing the kamis. :D :p . I guess it isn't any worse then trying to make my BDC into a Kerambit. Either way I look forward to seeing what they send and if all goes well having them do more stuff like this in the future. I think that it is great that the people that come here to the Cantina get a chance to get some special one of a kind pieces or at least limited number pieces. I say that assuming that the items that come in will be a bit different then the standered fair.

Here's the latest news straight from BirGorkha on work in progress. Only problem is many times what the tell me and what they actually do are totally different.

I HAVE USED ONE OF THE DEER HORN IN 10" CHITLANGE. i HAVE USED THAT HORN AS IT IS WITHOUT CUTTING ITS SHARP END. THE CURVE AND ITS END IS SUITABLE FOR LEFT-HANDED PEOPLE......AND IT LOOKS GOOD TOO. SO, I THINK WE SHOULD LEAVE IT AS IT IS AND SELL IT FOR LEFT-HANDED PERSN AS A SPECIAL PRODUCT. PLEASE LET ME KNOW ABOUT THIS AND I WILL DO AS U SUGGEST.KAMIS ARE WORKING TO MAKE NEW MODELS AS WELL AS THE ORDERS. I HAVE USED DEER HORN IN KERAMBID HANDLE AND SOME GRAY HORN IN OTHER KERAMBIDS. I HAVE USED PLAIN SANDLE WOOD IN NUMBER OF KERAMBIDS. IN ONE KERAMBID I HAVE USED CARVED SANDAL WOOD AND I AM THINKING OF USING CARVED WOODED SCABBARD AS WELL.I THINK THIS WILL ADD BETTER LOOK TO OUR PRODUCT. ALSO. I AM THINKING OF USING GRAY HORN SCABBARD IN THE GRAY ONES. DIDI, I AM WAITING FOR YOUR COMMENTS. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT DO U THINK ABOUT THIS.ONE OF THE KAMI IS SUGGESTING TO MAKE A SMALL KNIFE( WHICH WAS COPIED FROM MUSEUM) WITH DEER HORN AS IT IS WITHOUT CUTTNG ITS SHARP EDGE AND ANY OTHER FEATURES OF THE HORN. IT WILL END UP LOOKING AS IT WAS IN ORIGINAL.

Bill Cox: [lawnmower won't start] Karl, see if you can figure out what's wrong with this. It won't crank up and everything seems to be put together right.
Karl: It ain't got no gas in it.

Uncle Bill, sounds good to me. I especially like the sound of that small museum model! :D

You ain't jokin' and you will have to beat me to it! :D Those are great looking knives. Of course, all bets are off if I even catch a glimpse of a YCS!

Norm

D-handles or YCS, you guys better be quick, that's all I gotta say. I know one of the kamis is working on a 20" YCS just for me. ;)

I think Uncle Bill should probably post a warning a day ahead of time, to expect the special-specials the next day at noon or whatever. We'd probably crash Bladeforums  But then again, advance notice means that folks would be bugging Uncle by phone and email, which he doesn't need.

My good friend Sher is working on one of these for me, too (the center one):
