Does anybody know what generation the newest Strider sng knives are currently at, and what are the differences or improvements over the previous generations? I read that the company split or something and that now the production knives are made by Mick strider customs vs just strider knives and are marker m. strider, is this correct? I saw a 2018 review on an sng fatty and it had aluminum scales, is the build quality much better now?

Seems like just a bunch of configuration changes such as a swedge, or fatty, and different blade metals. The last major change IMO was the lockface change(Gen7). Of course this could be 1st generation M. Strider. I really haven't seen any generation mention recently.

I just learned about these knives recently,Is there a difference in build quality between the gen 7 and these new ones? I have read about some issues with striders in general, do you know which ones are good to go and what to look for?

People seem to be happy with the build quality since the 7 when they changed the lockface. I haven't purchased any of the M. Strider knives , but have only heard positive things on build quality. They seem to be paying more attention to detail then they once did. Earlier generations had more cosmetic flaws-such as blade off center, but were fully functional. I personally have never had much problem with any of the generations. Yes maybe the blade wasn't exactly perfectly centered, but I could likely get it close enough if I really cared. Never had the blade play problem and I am not sure why others have. I have only sent back 2 of many. 1 was my 1st and just being a newbee-felt it was too stiff-really just needed more time breaking in, and the other had a loose stop/stud which they fixed. There are a number of tips and tricks to solve problems-they really should send them out with the knives.
That at least is my experience-I really like the SnG, but they aren't going to be for everyone
By the way I asked about generations and it seems Strider hasn't been putting much thought into that since the 6

From what I understand, since SKI was dissolved, some of the existing models are being offered from MSC. They're done in smaller batches and are being sold out rather quickly. It seems that past issues have been addressed under MSC. From what I've read, lock rock and lock stick were the common issues. It was a hit or miss with SKI knives. MSC does cover warranty issues with the SKI knives. I also haven't read about any major issues since the lock face has been changed. Buying from a reputable site will be better than buying from an individual. If you buy from an individual, ask lots of questions about lock rock, lock stick and blade centering. Once you have full disclosure, then you can determine if you want to buy it. The secondary market is stupidly high right now selling Strider knives.

Is the warranty under MSC still the same no questions asked, you break the blade they fix it kinda thing? What do you think would be a good price nowadays for an sng lego with the flamed titanium? What blade steels do they usually come in and which are most desirable?

There warranty is the same. Not sure if it is total you break it they fix it-they have had some problems with people purposely trying to break knives-but it is a solid warranty.
You don't have the membership level to ask prices-sorry

They offer a lot of different steels. Most are relatively the same do to the heat treat, but they do vary in rust preventative properties from tool steels on up. Stonewashed is pretty good against rusting, tiger stripe is more prone(from what I here).

Mo2 offers you a different angle to this subject and you will have to decide for yourself on that.
