Hi guys,

I have the aurora and the northstar both are kind of thick. What are the thinner barkies with blades between 5 and 6 inches?

Thanks

I just got one of the Ultra Lite Bushcrafters about a month ago and it has become one of my favorite Barkies. Like the name says, it weighs close to nothing so it's great for short hikes or EDC. You barely know it's there. The handle is really comfortable and thin blade is a great slicer. Here's a couple of quick pics with a Northstar and in my hand to give you an idea of it's dimensions.

You might want to look at the Manitou. It has a very thin cutting geometry for it's size and is an excellent slicer.

Did they Scandi that Bushcrafter? What is the thickness on the stock - it looks THIN!

I bet is slices like a DEMON!

TF
.070 inch. I was looking at that thinking the same thing. What a great slicer.

Is it stainless or carbon? I could never find out what the mystery steel was they used for this. Looks a tidy slicer!

I have an ULB and while it is far from my favorite knife it slices exceptionally well.

I`ve actually batoned with the ULB.:foot:
It isn`t really made for it, but it did take it without complaining. Mind you, i did it only to split, wrist-thick logs for further carving. So i don`t think i`d reckommend it.

It is indeed a great slicer, and it is stainless. Holds a decent edge too.

Couple more to consider:

Classic Lite Hunter

Escort Boot Knife

Both stainless and tackle most tasks including the food prep slicing.

Thanks for the info on the ULB steel.
