What are the trading rules?

I am wondering what the (formal & informal) rules are in the cantina for posting HI khukuris to sell and/or trade? Is Uncle the only one with that privilege? I started examining my collection and found a couple of pieces that would make somebody else a lot happier than me. I'd like to spread some joy and acquire some different stock in the process. :D
I don't want to break any rules here, understand, and I know this ain't eBay. But it is a cantina.

But, what if I just want to deal with the cantina crowd? The folks I know and trust? Can I sneak in a trade without getting dissed, pissed on or worse - castigated and excoriated? Wow - that stuff hurts!
;)
Yer pal,

Brian you need to check the current rules and regs on selling knives of any kind. I know you have to be a premium member, as you are, or a gold member but I don't know what privileges a premium member has. A gold member has full selling and trading priviliges.

What I'd do......

Post it in the trade forum,
then post a link to that here.
That keeps you square with the rules;
all trades post in the trade forum.

If you want to keep it to the cantina people,

then give the original post a name like "cantina" or "test"
that won't attract much attention
from those browsing the trades.

All I know is that folks other than Uncle who've tried to sell stuff here have gotten spanked.

It seems that you can post a notice here that you've posted in the sale or trade forum, and that may already be a stretch. Descriptions, price quotes, transactions, etc must be done in the appropriate forum.

The rules are bent some for HI, but we've been warned several times in the past not to try and bend them more.

Spark runs the place and writes the rules and he's serious about it, so I wouldn't try and sneak something in--even if you succeed once, somebody else will try, and then more, and we'll all get castigated and excoriated. It's happened before.

Why? Whatcha got? ;-) ;-) ;-) <it's a joke darn it>

...castigation and excoriation are enough to keep me on the straight and narrow. Whew, you guys don't mess around! :footinmou
I'll keep the 20" Kobra under the bed.

<I told you already...it's a *joke*>

DT...yup, a pensive (hang on...gotta look that up...HEY!, junky baiting joke) ;-)

With all this talk about read the rules, where the heck are these rules posted? Are the Mods trying to hide them or what, I can't find a list of rules for selling anywhere.

You're much prettier in your avatar. Like your video. A balisong fan myself.

I've never seen a definitive statement in a paragraph,
but a short reading of the relevant pages shows that;
(With some exceptions made by the Bladeforums owner at his own discretion)
these are the rules:

Trades & sales are 'exchanges'.

Exchanges are posted in the "Exchange Forum".

"Trade: Knives & Tools .........Open to all members.
Trade: Gadgets & Gear ........ Open to all members. "

Registered users (those with user name) are considered 'members' to post trades.
This from the fact that most of the recent postings are by 'Registered User'.

"Basic Member
Bare bones membership ...... Does not allow selling in Exchange area "

"Gold Membership
Allows you to sell in the Exchange section"

"Dealer Membership
Allows Dealers to sell .....in the Dealers For Sale Area. "

"KnifeMaker Membership
Allows KnifeMakers [to sell in] the KnifeMaker For Sale areas"

Ha ha thanks. That's Britney Spears. Now where are dem rules?
GFH the rules may be in the BFC FAQs; some are listed here in the different forum memberships...Oops thaqt may tie in to where not just everyone needs to go. Click on the upgrade your forum experience at the top of most any page and it will get you there.:)

Methinks anyone can do trades but selling is restricted to the premium accounts.

Thanks ya'll. I don't see much in the FAQ section. I've seen what Dean posted at one time or another but it seems that there should be a dedicated place to review forum rules, and my guess is that there is more info to be given than what Dean posted. Mods? Every other forum I belong to has a fairly easy to find forum rules section. Beseides general posting etiquette, doesn't BFC have something like that?

somebody around here has "Read the rules" in their sig line....who is it?

I think it's one of the moderators....can't remember.
