It seems like a great little knife made to be a true pocket knife. Other than the one handed opening and liner lock, it would totally fill the niche of single bladed traditional in my opinion. What is your opinion?

It's an okay looking knife but I wouldn't consider it "traditional" at all. What do you think is traditional about it?

Fair question. I think it is the lack of pocket clip, light weight, warncliffe blade, size, etc. It is clearly a modern design but for me, I would carry a knife like this when I would normally only carry a nice traditional. Maybe the fact that it would substitute for a traditional in my carry habits makes me think of it that way.

Ive got to agree with Jason. The liner lock and thumbstud disqualifies it my opinion.

I see. I assume you meant hole since it doesn't have a thumbstud but point taken. So one handed opening is the deal breaker? For curiosity's sake, Where does the case trapper lock fit in? Also, I see that the spyderco it isn't really a traditional knife per se but I see it as sort of a hybrid;).

Could you picture your grandfather or great grandfather carrying around a GB Air?

I see where you're going with this, Ray, and it looks like a nice little gent's folder, but it's not traditional. If it makes you feel any better, I only consider the trapperlock traditional in that its frame is very similar to a trapper. The thumbstud is too modern an element for me.

It is a gents knife, but as it is not made of traditional materials, construction techniques, blade style, or locking method, I do not see how it could be considered a traditional knife.
The locking bladed Case knives use a full height locking spring, not a Walker liner lock.
OTOH, while it could fill the same niche as a traditional gents knife, that still doesn't make it one.

Nicely stated. Completely agree.
